Question:
Why does my tummy suddenly hurt?

I'm 6 weeks out~Lap RNY and for the past 3 days I have this really uncomfortable hunger-pang,bubbly,gurgly feeling in my chest.It hurts when I take a few bites of food or that first few sips of water and then the pain lessens.Then it returns.What's going on?    — Heather I. Hi, I am 3 wks post-op and have same thing its like it spasms and then calms down. I always wait for the pain to go away and then i try to slow down. it hurts bad though and discourages me from eating so thats good. thank goodness for protien shakes. I think i gulp air i vomited yesterday tho and then it went away. i can't really help you just relate and sympathize becky easley

I've looked over your profile - and you don't say whether you are actually eating and drinking once the pain hits..so the gurly-hunger-pang thingy could be just that - you're hungry and/or thirsty. As for the pain, that only happened to me when I ate too fast, gulped air when I ate or not had a bowel movement in a few days. If it's not one of those, I'd seek the advice of my doctor. Good luck!
