Question:
Does anyone know a doctor in Ohio that will do split billing?

My husband's insurance will not cover the surgery.My mother said they usually remove your gallbladder during surgery.I was reading about split billing & was wondering if there was a doctor in ohio that would bill the insurance for the gallbladder & hospital charges & I would be able to self-pay for the bypass surgery.    — bondo (posted on March 22, 2002)

The doctor's office doesn't have any control over what the hospital bills. They are 2 different companies. The most your insurance will probably approve is an outpatient hospital stay for gallbladder surgery. You would then have to pay for the actual room and board charges. However, this is still cheaper then paying the entire hospital confinement. You should check with your insurance on this.
