Question:
How recent must tests be pre-op?

I have had a lot of tests done in the past 3 years and wonder if I will need to repeat them. Mostly the sleep lab. I had one 2 years ago, is that too long to use? Also, I have been treated for some comorbidities through my PCP who is giving me the referrel. Do all tests need to be repeated? Thanks    — candymom64 (posted on March 8, 2002)

When I scheduled all of my pre-op tests, I was told that everything had to be within 30 days of my surgery date. I don't know about the sleep study, I didn't have one. But in two years a lot can change. So, yes, you probably will have to do another sleep study.
