Question:
Has anyone had a combination of VBG & RNY?
My surgeon does a combination VBG & RNY. It's basically VBG with the intestine rerouted to give you the malabsorptive side of the RNY. He transects the stomach, so there isn't as much chance of a staple disruption. Has anyone done this? What are the long term outcomes? Are you satisfied with it? — Kathy B. My understanding is that the RNY is the old VBG with the intestines
rerouted. I had lap RNy and what you describe is exactly what my doc did,
transection and all!

AHH, the fobi pouch. RNY with a band around the new stomach to pevent it
from ever stretching. Its safe and effective.
