Question:
Where do you calculate goal weight?
Hey guys, I am 5'9", 325lbs, and I have a large body frame/bone structure. Does anyone know of a site, where I can calculate what my goal weight should be, in consideration to my body frame, as well as my height and current weight? This information would really help me alot!! Thanks in advance for any responces! — Jennifer M. (posted on December 4, 2001)

What I did was find my chart weight of 185 and subtract it from my pre op
weight of 313 which made me 128 pounds overweight and multiplied this by
70% which is about 90 pounds to be lost in a year. Incidently I am a big
looser down 96 pounds in not 5 months. The 70% is the average loss and some
loose it all.

My surgeon estimates that we lose 70% of our excess weight...on
average. He was right on the money with me and both of my friends.
I started at 370 and 70% of my excess weight equalled 157#...well I
lost 150. Similar storiew with the others in his support group.

I was told that at 5'9" my self I should shoot for 150-170lbs. I
started out at 326 and now I am at 252 at 4 1/2 months. I just don't want
to look skinny I want to be comfortable. Suzi
