Question:
Will getting a letter from my chiropractor help with the approval process?
I'm being treated right now for a bulging disk and wondered if a letter from him to go along with my PCP and surgeons letter would help with the approval. I have Aetna insurance if that makes a difference. Has anybody done this? And do you think it helped? — Kathy B. (posted on October 31, 2001)

With ANY insurance..... it couldn't hurt!! Chiropractor, Pulmonologist /
cardiologist / obgyn / physical therapist /orthopedist/ dietician / Mentor
for Pain Management (let's talk to the "naturalists" here) ANYONE
who's seen you for pain or other health related problems conserning
obesity.. And not to sound over optimistic, but there isn't much they
won't blame on obesity, so if in doubt, couldn't hurt... Good luck on your
Journey!

The nurses commented on how well i had organized my files.
I got letters and records ahead of time,From my cardiologist, any of my
past doctors, and records from my present PCP. On the forms I had to hand
write in most answers but between the papers i put a typed copy. I
included a nice photo (full fat body) of me..(my sweet daughter took in
front of her garage door so you can see the flab flap (ha) and a copy of
all my meds , a letter stating why I wanted this surgery (at office
request) and i added a few things of my own. I WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A LETTER
FROM THE DOG but he wouldnt write it!! Said his Paw hurt.

It can't hurt! But, make sure he documents that your health
condition(s) are weight related.
