Question:
What exactly do I put on the bracelet?

If I go to the pet store to have a med. bracelet done, what exactly do I put on it? ALSO, I've been having diarrhea for 2 days now. Can anyone offer any suggestions? I am Post op 2 weeks. I see my surgeon this Wednesday. I don't know if its that gallbladder medication or the vitamin B12 that he prescribed. I do plan to tell him about the diarrhea when I see him Wed. but I am suffering with cramps so bad when it comes. Thanks so much for any answers that you supply. Thanks, Darline    — Darline H. On the diarrhea...I had it pretty routinely for the first nine months. Yes, fat or sugar definately would trigger it, even a tiny amount. Often, however, I had eaten nothing that should have made me ill. Lots of cramps and gas, diarrhea and burping after I ate dinner, even just a few bites of the blandest, most boring little dinner. Then, magically, at ten months, it went away. Just like that. One day I wasn't sick anymore and I have felt fantastic ever since. It's strange and uncomfortable, but it does get better.

Hi Darlene. I ordered my bracelet last week and I got my suggestion from someone on the board. Mine says, Gastric Bypass, DO NOT PLAACE NG TUBE BLINDLY, USE ENDOSCOPY. Hope this helps.

Hi Darline, I had occasional bouts of diarrhea post op and my surgeon recommended Imodium AD. Worked Great!!! I took it occasionally for about 2 weeks and the diarrhea disappeared. The caplets are so,so,so tiny!! Very easy to take. I have heard others share similar "success" stories. Hope this helps. Shelley

Hi, I too am interested in getting a bracelet. I watched this TLC O/R thing on tv the other night. The patient, an accident victim, was out, and they were putting this tube down her throat, concerned with abdominal bleeding. The first thing I thought of was "Wow, what if she were a gastric bypass patient?" They would have never known since she was alone at the time of the accident. To say the least, it freaked me out, and now I want one of those bracelets. If anyone can e-mail me to let me know where to get one, out and about or on the "net", I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks, [email protected]

I recently posted a similar question to yours. wondering where we have to wear them, on left or right arm or if you can wear it on your ankle. I found a website with some really cute & attractive ones, http://www.medical-id/women.htm
