Question:
Since the WLS I have been eating mostly chicken, turkey, fish, etc...

and rarely eat beef. Anyway, I made some chili and used ground turkey instead of beef....well...lets just say I don't think I will be doing that again. :) It's edible, but I think I'm just use to making the chili with beef, and the turkey just doesn't cut it. All in all, it taste ok, but there is an after taste due to the use of the turkey. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can do to cut this after taste? I'd appreciate any help. I use ground turkey or ground chicken all the time. We love them both. We do every once in awhile get the very lean beef and make chili with it. However most of the time it's turkey or chicken. I can't tell a difference and neither can my boyfriend. He actually prefers the turkey. I guess it just depends on individuals taste. Good luck!

I hate ground turkey too. I'm making chili today and I'm using a very lean ground round. It's pretty low fat too. I don't have any problem with beef though and I know some people do.

I've made chili with ground chicken, but it needed much more spice than the normal beef recipe. I ground my own skinless/boneless chicken so I knew it had very little fat. I also found that people try making "beef" recipes (like chili) with ground turkey to save on fat calories, but be careful....when I read the package of the ground turkey, it actually had MORE fat than the 95% lean beef that the store carried - and I like the taste of beef much better! I say, go for the beef!
