Question:
I'm 10 days post-op, open rny. I woke up during the night with severe abdominal

cramping. It was like a balling up type pain. It then went into diarrhea (sp?). It is now 10 hrs. later and I continue with the abd. cramping although it has somewhat lessened. It's now intermitten cramping and the diarrhea has slowed down. I feel so very very weak. Please help. Has anyone experienced this before? Thanks for your input.    — Myrna E. Sounds a lot like dumping, although I haven't experienced it. I would contact my surgeon if I was worried enough to post on here. Hope you are feeling better soon. Take care and God Bless!

Usually, or at least the dumping I have had is over within 30 minutes. I would as the previous poster suggested, call your doctor whenever you have severe pain, especially only being 10 days out. Hope you are feeling better soon.

You should call your surgeon's office and report this to them. Don't ever be afraid to ask them questions. Better safe than sorry.
