Question:
How is my progress?

I am about 2.5 months post op (3 months on the 19th) and I have lost 44lbs. I started out at 277, 5' 6.5". To all those who have been through this process, am I doing ok? I work out about 4 days a week, sometimes more (walk for two miles) and I get about 55oz of water a day (sometiems more). Food wise, I get about 800calories a day and the 60g of protein. Any feedback I could be given would be appreciated.    — Carla M. (posted on May 9, 2003)

You are doing great! Sounds like your starting off doing everything right. I was 267 at 5'5 and 7mo post-op I am now 150. I was told by my Doctor I am losing too fast, but im not complaining lol. I'm now losing a pound a week sometimes two, so it's slowing down now. Good luck to you and keep up the good work :o)

Sounds like you're doing pretty well, you're weight loss is good. One thing you really need to increase is your fluid intake. As post-ops, we need atleast 64oz of water, its essential to stay hydrated and good for our weight loss. Good yo're getting in 60grams of protein- doesn't hurt to get a little more in as well if you could! You're exercise sounds great as well! Goodluck to you and keep it up :-)

I agree with Lezlie to try to get in a little more water if you can. But otherwise, it sounds like your calorie intake, exercise, protein intake is right on track.

Carla...we're nearly twins. I eat (approx. 800 cals/day), drink (about 60 oz), exercise (walk 2 miles) EXACTLY the same as you and have lost nearly exactly the same also. First month -22, 6 weeks -30, and (I think) 8 weeks -35!! I started at 341 5' 9". Amazing! Thanks for posting, I feel better already : ) ...why is it we want more more more (losses that is)?
