I had a friend who became pregnant 4 or 5 months post op, and her doctor
advised her to terminate the pregnancy, but would have worked with her if
she had decided to keep the child. She followed his advice and terminated.
Then a year later she became pregnant again and how has a healty little
boy.
I think you should focus more on if you can have a healthy baby so soon
post-op. In things I have read being pregnant in the rapid weight loss
phase is that it can really hinder the nutrtion the baby gets, and babies
who are malnurished in the womb, may have mental or developemental problems
that are not evident for years.
It's too late now, but didn't your doctor advise you not to get pregnant so
soon? My surgeon says you should not get pregnant until you are 18 months
post op.

You can have a succesful pregnancy after this surgery, lots of women have
done it,there is no need to "terminate" your baby.
As you never know what will happen in the future, this may be your only
child,I don't know if you have others,but every child is a blessing,love
your baby and please see a high risk specialist and they can set your mind
at ease.
Good luck, feel free to email me for support,I had 2 high risk pregancies
and my children are fine.

I can not believe that people even have nerve to mention that you should
terminate a pregnancy. I am 10 and 1/2 months post and 6 weeks pregnant.
I know that it is high risk but my last thought is my weight loss at this
point and am not focusing on that but on getting enough food for the baby!
I had a friend that had a baby just fine after getting pregnant at 3months
post and she started lossing again after she had the baby. If this is your
only focus than I feel sorry for you for there is a life that is living in
you and that should be your focus now. The weight loss will return.
Please take this to heart and think about it. My focus is the miricle that
growing in my body. You see I also have a tumor that is very large that is
on my ovary and I would give my life for my unborn baby. Think about
it!!!!! Please think of the baby right now!

i went throught the same thing. i was 4 months post of when i found out i
was pregnant. i was scared at first and dissapointed because i had only
lost 50 lbs, i was weighing 242 lbs when i got pregnant. i lost 10 lbs the
second time i went to the dr. and i could not take those big old prenatal
vitamins, so i was just trying to eath healthy and drank lots and lots of
milk. i only gained 12 llbs through out the whole pregnancy and my babyboy
weighed 8.5 lbs himself. and yes thank god he came out normal in every
aspect. he is now 1 yr and 5 mos and i weigh 191 lbs, it does slow down a
bit and you really have to work hard at it, but you can achieve it. for me
it will be 3 years since my sur this february 2002. so dont worry too much
and take care or yourself and that beautiful baby waiting to come out to
this world.. take care and god blesss.

I know how you feel. I was 3 months post op when I found out I was 6 weeks
pregnant. I had a great healthy normal pregnancy! My baby only weighed 5
pounds 1 oz. Not because of the surgery, but because I have low birthweight
babies. You would be amazed to know she is the biggest of my 3 kids!!! And
I didnt have the surgery when I had them. As far as knowing when the steady
weight loss will return,...I dont know. My child is 2 months old as of
10-19. I lost all of the 25 or so pounds I gained. I lost an additional 4
pounds, but I had to work my butt off! I guess when you get more info let
me know. Also if you plan on breastfeeding, then your nutrition should be
your FIRST concern!
