Karen, I have Blue Shield PPO Select. I have almost identical comorbities
as you although my BMI is 46. It took one week for me to get an approval
from the insurance company. They asked for nothing extra so I have to
believe my surgeons office did a spectacular job of submitting for
approval. My surgery is sceduled for Aug 22nd at Clovis Community Hospital.
I don't think you will have any trouble with the insurance co. Good luck
to you

I was just denied by BS ppo. My bmi 36.8 and I have very high blood
pressure and joint pain. migraine headches. I am going to appeal, but I
think the main issue was bmi under 40
.I know if your bmi was 40 or higher you would have no problem getting
approved.I am not giving up yet. Good Luck !!! to you with the approval
process . If you get denied try again. I am so frustrated but giving up
isn't an option.
