Question:
Anyone know what might cause pain and pressure in upper abdomen 16 mos p.o.?

It hurts to take a deep breath and is tender to touch. I think i may have an incisional hernia.. have a bulge in area of my scar... (had open rny Oct '03) this feeling just started about a week ago. Kinda hurts to stand straight up, pain and pressure relieved when I lay on my back. Eating and drinking are fine and seem unaffected... Something just feels weird inside and I am starting to freak!! Pam, we are not doctors on this site, just lay people. This is a question that you must address to your medical professional. So, do not freak out, pick up your phone and make and appointment on Monday morning or go to the ER if it is really bad.

I totally agree with Christine. We are not medically trained to diagnose, I think that it is imparitive that you call your doctor as soon as possible. That is what He/She is there for Judy Harris

I don't want to diagnose you, but I had the exact same pain. Could not stand up, only had a little bit of relief lying down. When I could not take it anymore, went to the ER only to discover that I had an internal hernia and had to have internal surgery. You should get to the ER where your bypass was performed to rule this out. Godd luck to you.
