Question:
Need some help concerning
Well, here I am 31 years old...And asking a question about menstral "stuff"- Because I was/am overweight. I would never get my period (maybe once a year) Now- I'm like clockwork- Every month. I have a question (I should have known the answer to years ago if I got my period) I understand- there is a time of the month that women gain a few pounds. Is it right before ? during ? or after ? If you are "holding water" When do you lose it ? :) Thanks for any input. Cheers Kim — WABBIT F. (posted on June 14, 2003)

I tend to hold onto water two weeks before my period. I want to stuff my
face during that week too. Then, the week prior, I tend to lose weight, and
get my eating back under control. My best friend is different. She holds
the water weight, and craves carbs the week before. :) Hope that helps!!

I tend to start gaining water weight about 4 or 5 days before my period (up
to 5 lbs worth, so don't panic when the scale "tilts" forward!)
and do not lose all of it until about a week later, with an extra pound or
2 for my troubles!....keep drinking your water, it will help.

Hi Kim,
When I would get my period, I would gain anywhere from 5 to 7 lbs the week
before and lose it by the time I was done with it. I don't have to worry
about that any more, I'm into the personal summers and winters LOL.

just goes to show we're all different. I tend to gain about 4 pounds of
water weight about two days before I start, add a pound or two more during
and then from the last day and about 2 days following the end, I lose it
all. Weird!
