Question:
Pintos and cheese from Taco Bell
Many people have talked about how this is a great source of protein. I went to the taco bell website but was unable to get the nutritional info to see the protein and carb, fat and calorie breakdown and don't want to use it until I know what it's made up of. Anyone have the information? Is this something that works for you? I'm afraid because it's fast food that it's full of fat. Thanks! — CrystalBroj (posted on February 21, 2003)

Crystal, Pintos and cheese is 180 calories for 4.5 oz.
It has 8 grams of fat and 18 grams of carbs. As far as protein goes I
haven't a clue because this book does not list it. Try calorieking.com.
It helps with all the fast food choices and their calories. I bought the
book by the calorie king. It has over 150 different fast food rest. and
how many calories are in their foods. Hope this helps. Also try
fitday.com.

I just got on the site and clicked on nutritional info on the top, then
clicked sides from the bottom, and pintos & cheese came up in the list.
If it doesn't work for you here is what I got - 180 calories, 60 fat
calories, 7 grams fat, 3.5 saturated fat, 15 cholesterol, 700mg sodium, 20
carbs, 6 dietary fiber, 1 sugar, 10 protein. Hope this helps.

Once you are on to solid foods, try a crunchy chicken taco with lettuce
& cheese. It's very good. 1/2 fills me up, I eat one about once a
month. That's my fast food indulgence. Better than before, my normal TB
order was 3 Taco Supremes, 2 chicken soft tacos with Nacho cheese & a
large soda. Sounds like way too much now, but that's what I used to do. I
worked at TB for about 5 years in high school and came up with my own
concocsions. Enjoy!

Go to fastfoodfacts.com, they have a wonderful travel size book for in the
car that lists everything, including sugar grams per serving from most fast
food places. I have one in each car. I don't make it a habit to frequent
fast food places, but sometimes there is no choice and this book helps you
find the healthiest choice for each place. Good luck!

I went to tacobell.com, clicked on nutrition guide, and then clicked on
nachos and sides. P & C has 180 calories, 7g of fat, 20g of carbs, 1g
of sugar, and 10g of protein.

I know you are 4 weeks, but at about 8 weeks I think I started to eat the
soft taco there. Even though it's fast food, I thought it was a great
source of protein. DOn't get me wrong, I only ate it once in a while, but
of all fast foods to get, I would go to TACO BELL. Not sure of the
calories, but I think the fat was 10grams and protein was 11. I order it
w/o lettuce so i wasn't eating filler an could get more of the protein. For
beef and cheese, 10grams for a whole taco isn't that bad, esp. when you
would probably only be able to eat 1/2. (Plus I only ate some of the soft
shell, figured I didn't need al the carbs!)
