Question:
How do you lose weight?
Ok,I'm still in the researching phase, but I have read several other profiles and questions and see that after surgery you still get stuck at a weight..... If my doctor says my stomach holds a gallon of food right now (2000 calories +) and after surgery my stomach can hold only about 4 oz ( about 600 800 calories) why is that some post op, if not all, get suck, why do you plateau? Shouldn't you be losing weight all the time with what is not eaten anymore? Thanks — Vicki L. (posted on December 18, 2002)

Eventually your body will get used to the lesser amount of calories that
you are taking in. Your body will realize that it only needs that many
calories to survive. Hope this helps.

When you are eating such a small amount your body thinks you are starving
and tries to protect the fat by lowering your metabolic basil rate.
Getting in a minimum of 60 grams of protein per day will prevent this from
happening. The protein will increase your metabolic rate instead causing
you to burn fat faster. That is why you hear people say that they started
losing again after taking Real Meals. It has the most protein of any
drink. It has the full 60 grams. And unlike a lot of other drinks it has
the peptides too so that it is absorbed 100%.
