Question:
Fatty liver prevent surgery

Now I know when your obese you can not be totally healthy, well I thought I was, I went for medical clearance today my final step ,and my PCP was concerned about my Fatty Liver and my bld work. It Reads AST 97 (normal 14-36),TBIL 1.7 (Normal 0-1.2), and ALT 94 (normal 9-52) and sonogram of my abdomen states my liver has signs offatty deposits Should I worry? From my understanding most people who are overweight have fatty livers. Thats why my doctor put you on a diet prior to surgery. So the liver shrinks, more room for swelling and bloting at time of surgery. Less chances of getting hernia's too (b/c more room to swell and blote from gas). I hope this helps.
