Question:
Has anyone have surgury having this condition

I went for my pre-op testing, and during my GI series, the doctor kept on asking me if I have heart burn and I would reply no, then he asked again, so I said why. he reponded you have a hiatel hernia, Is that going to effect my surgery that is scheduled for Nov. 22nd?    — Teresa G. The same thing was found during my pre-op testing in August, and it had no effect on my lap RNY done in October. I never had any symptoms either.

I also had a hiatal hernia. I was unaware of it, since I had no symptoms. Mine was repaired during the surgery. My Lap RNY was October 8th.
