Question:
Is it ok to eat beef jerky to get your protein???
I am 4 weeks post op and the only way I am getting in protein is by eating beef jerky. It goes down well and doesn't make me sick. I'm also watching the calories, carbs and fat content in it so that I don't overdo it. I can't tolerate chicken or any other meats yet and cannot drink the protein shakes, so I'm wondering if it's ok to be eating only beef jerky to get my protein...Thanks! — Cheryl T. hi there :) my surgeon said that beef jerkey was an excellent choice for
not only protein but he mentioned that it had an appetite suppresant
affect. i really like it alot. i never ate it pre op but do now. the only
thing i struggle with is being real thirsty after eating it. best of luck
to you.

Get a dehydrator & make your own! No sodium issue that way. You do
need to marinate at least 24 hrs., but you choose what to marinate with.
