Question:
Yoplait Nouriche
Hi, I am still pre-op but trying to get used to eating certain foods and reading lables. I just tried Yoplait Nourich and it is really good. While reading the lable I see it has 10g of protein but then under Totat Carbohydrates (60g) it has sugars 45g. Does this mean that this product has 45grams of sugar or what ? Also, it is 290 calories. Is this good, bad or what ? I do see one ingredients is Whey protein concentrate and I was thinking I could add ProCel to it ? HELP...Dana — Dana R. It certainly sounds BAD to me. Most dump-sensitive RNY post-ops (about
30% of RNY post-ops don't dump) would dump on 45g of sugar! 290 calories
for one yogurt. At 8 weeks, I am doing about 650 calories max for the
whole day (6 small meals). You'd be better off getting a Yoplait Light
and adding your protein powder to it. JR (open RNY 07/17 -74 lbs)

Yogurts are really tricky. I have one brand that i always get, and I do
fine wiht them. The other day I picked up the "light" version of
another brand cause it was on sale. Guess what, I was sick as a dog after
eating it and could not figure out why. I looked on the label and this
"light " fersion had over 40 grams of carbs...definatly way past
my dump limit. So...read labels.

45g of SUGAR? Oh my! I try to shoot for single digit per meal. 6g was
the doctor's rule. 45g is more than one Milky Way, more than 1 real coke.
I think I would set it down very gently and then RUN LIKE THE WIND away
from all that sugar. Never mind if it will make you dump, it will surely
put some weight back on!
