Like you, I moved out of state (actually, completely across the country) 3
months after my RNY. I found a new doctor who I really like but who
doesn't know a think about WLS. I have him run blood tests annually that
measure my 1) protein levels (pre-albumin is key), blood calcium levels,
Dexascan (shows bone density), iron levels, B-12 levels and anything else
he thinks may be worrisome. He has been awesome about ordering up these
tests for me and is really looking at my experience as a learning
experience for himself. Already he has recommended WLS to several of his
other obese patients. Don't worry - you'll do fine!
