Question:
Anyone here ever had superficial phelbitis before surgery?
I had superficial phelebitis when I recieved an intravenous dosage of Phenegran for a virus. It basically synged my vein in my right arm. I've never had any other trouble but I am wondering would this put me at a higher risk for a pulmonary embolisim? — jackie F. (posted on July 16, 2002)

I had superficial phelbitis in my leg due to sitting in my van for a long
trip without getting out to stretch. The doctor said my superficial
phelbitis was an inflammation of the vein (not a clot) and I just took anti
inflammatory medicine (like aspirin) for a short while. I had surgery a
year of so after that episode and never had any clotting problems at all. I
have had several minor surgeries since my RNY , also with no complications
at all.
