Question:
Anyone with BC/BS Federal have post-op complications?

I have BC/BS Federal Insurance in Alabama. They didn't require preapproval and I am supposed to pay 10% of my surgery. But I had complications post-surgery (a leak) and had to have a second surgery and a 10 day hospital stay. Would this be covered under the $100 hospital deductible or am I going to be expected to pay 10% of everything? Stacy, I have BC/BS Fed in VA, and also had two surgeries but they were 5 days apart, so I had to pay $200 ($100) for each hospital stay. Your hospital bill should be covered with the $100 payment. However, its the 10 percent (20 percent for me), for everything else that adds up. The surgeons fees, the anesthesiologist, the tests that they sent you for in the hospital, all that adds up and the bills will trickle in over the next 3 months.
