Question:
I have aetna hmo insurance until the end of this month (june)
I have aetna hmo insurance until the end of this month (june) because i took a new job.....and they have cigna hmo. Problem is that i got the referral to see the surgeon in my area (Dr. Yasrebi--he is great!) from aetna, now problem is he doesnt except cigna hmo!! i can elect to take cobra and pay the 102% premium or i can start the ball rolling with cigna, which means i have to find a new surgeon all over, does anyone have any suggestions for me, preferably in the jacksonville,fl area or anyone that has faced the same thing. p.s. anyone know of an awesome surgeon in fla that takes cigna hmo? — reneagemini (posted on June 17, 2002)

When reading your profile page it looks as if you are not yet approved for
surgery but to actually meet with the surgeon. If I were you, I would find
someone who takes Cinga HMO - you pay enough to have the insurance - plus
we all have problems making ends meet and 300-400 extra a month is a lot.
I am sure you can find a surgeon that takes CIGNA HMO. Look for someone
who does - then decide. Best of luck!

First thing. When does the insurance take effect on you r new job. If it
is the usual 90 days, you need the COBRA for that 90 days. If you don't,
you lose continuity of service. Which means they can have the preexisting
condition clause effective. 2. Pay the cobra and go through with the
appointment, and see how it goes from there. A bird in the hand theory.
