Question:
wondering if anyone has had trouble with absorption of antibiotics?
I have been on two different antibiotics since the week before Thanksgiving. Once for bronchitis and then for a "sinus infection", I do not think I got over the first bout of sickness before getting the second...I think they just ran as one, really. I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with absorbing antibiotics and if so what antibiotics did you take and which ones have you found that worked? I took levaquin for the "sinus infection" and Kflex (cephalexin) for the bronchitis. TIA, Tra — Traci W. (posted on January 2, 2002)

I'm still pre-op, and this may not help, but I went through something
similar this season. I had brochitis for over 2 months and was given
antibiotics and they didn't work. So they finally gave me steroids
(prednisone) and it started working the very first day. I was coughing for
2 months and within a day of taking this stuff I stopped. Good luck to
you!

Traci,
I too have had the same problems, I am almost 9 months post op and I don't
seem to be able to absorb any type of medications. Last time I was sick
with the flu, I explained the issue to my doctor and he simply prescribed a
liquid antibiotic. As far as regular cold symptoms or pain relief, I found
that for colds childrens diematapp helped, and childrens tylenol for pain.
Just take a little more than the recommended dose, and that should work.
Good Luck, hope ya feel better..
