Question:
Need a referral from my PCP

I am scheduled to see my PCP next week, a follow up to blood work, and a referral for a sleep study. I have decided to speak with him right up front about getting a referral to the WLS surgeon. (my healthplan requires I have a PCP referral) I am putting together some documentation, and articles to give to him (spent hours at the News link) does anyone have any "must read" articles, or links I can visit to further gather information to help educate my physician. (I am a bit nervous because I am right on the border with a BMI of 40 - I want to help the process a long as well as I can) Thanks again, This site always a great source of information, Denise    — Nene B. You can look at the National Institutes of Health page. Thier position paper on obesity is there and it supports WLS. It is in adobe format so you can print it and take it with you, or at least portions of it, it is quite long. Good luck
