Question:
Vomiting started at 4 weeks Post Open RNY

It's actually dry heaves, almost all day, every day. I've already been admitted once for dehydration and feel it coming on again. Any suggetions, I'm taking Zofran, and Protonix (sp?) for the acid. I've already had an endoscopy, everything was okay.    — Robin P. (posted on August 31, 2001)

Hi! I am 9 weeks post open RNY(Fobi Pouch)! I am still experiencing nausea and vomitting daily and now have severe acid reflux? I vomit mainly the acid,it keeps me awake at nite. I sleep maybe 1 1/2 hours at a time. It is miserable! I have been scoped too. Actually they were not able to scope me I had a stricture(narrowing at the opening of my pouch)...they had to dialate it twice under floroscopy!!! I never had reflux until after the dilatations??? But I have always had nausea&vomitting since about 3wks! My acid is really making me crazy. I go back to the MD in two days to see what can be done or if anything is wrong? I just wanted to let you know I know how you feel. I hope it gets better soon. If I discover anything helpful I will let you know. Call your doc if your acid reflux doesn't get better! You could develop a ulcer and you definately don't need that!! Good Luck!
