Question:
I need help for a friend who is in desperate need of WLS
Hi all! I need some information on Central States Team Care Insurance through the Teamsters Union. I have a dear friend who is in desperate need of WLS and I need to know if anyone has had this insurance or knows of anyone who has and had it pay for WLS surgery. Thanks...K — k K. K: Some of us are reluctant to help "friends" who have
"friends in desperate need of WLS". We'd rather help the person
themselves when THEY ask. However, on this website there's a link in blue
that says "insurers' - go there and search for your answer.

Cindy,
First, thank you for your response. I am a post op who has had the privlage
of being able to have the chance to have this wonderful surgery to save my
life. The friend I am trying to help does not have the use of a computer to
be able to research WLS and to be able to find answers to her questions. I
also, have been a member of this site for over a year now, and never fail
to help others no matter what the question is and who asks it for them. I
also, have looked through the insurance library throughly and have found
nothing about the insurance carrier I posted about. That for one is why I
asked here for help. I don't post questions aften, but have always had good
experiances from my fellow members here with no problems what so ever. And
I hope that continues to be the case. I am a "friend" who will
help all of my "friends" 100% at any time they need me with all
of the resources I have available. That's what a friend does when another
needs help.

Hi! I don't know if this will help but I got my surgery throught the Alaska
Teamsters without a hitch. I would think maybe Teamster coverage would be
similar throughout the country. Good Luck

My husband and I have TeamCare as well as another plan through my job.
TeamCare will NOT pay for this. There is an EXCLUSION specifically for
Bariatric surgery or any plastic surgery such as panniculectomy after
weight loss. I wish this weren't the case, but they are not a very good
plan. They won't even cover Well baby exams and shots! Even most HMOs do
that!
