Question:
how long before I would be able to sleep on a futon that is close to the floor?
I sleep on a futon now and i am going home to recuperate, so I would not have to deal with it for at least a month. I am trying not to have to buy a bed because of the expense and for the fact that I love my futon, but... I would appreciate any information! I go for surgery on July 19th and my doctor is Dr. Paul Lin in Wash, DC — Celeste D. (posted on June 25, 2001)

My bed is closer to the floor than most because we don't use a bedframe.
The boxspring sits on the floor and then the mattress. I have slept in my
bed since the day I came home, for me it was actually easier to get in and
out of. I know a futon is probably lower but it's all in the arms and legs
at this point to get you out of bed anyway.

When I had my appendix out many years ago with a 8 inch incision I would
roll out of bed, and crawl to a door frame to help pull my self up This
might help you.
