what seems to work for me, is just go back to counting calories. this way
you never really deprive yourself of what you want, you just limit your
intake. plus the hungerier you are the better choices you will make,
because you will cut fat and carbs way down, because they also have the
highest calories. good luck, 275/122

Hi Jennifer,
To get back on track try going back to just protein for a few days than
add the carbs back in a little at a time. Eat 3 small meals a day & get
away from snacking in between meals if you
are doing that. It is usually the snacks that kill our efforts.
I am about the same timing as you are & am fighting the last
40 lbs as well. So I understand your frustration. I have gone
back to the gym, which seems to be helping . My probelm is the coffee
addition. If I would get away from that, I would probably be just fine.
Good luck & I hope the South beach diet works for you.

I recently added chromium polynicotinate 200mcg in the AM and PM. It
really seems to be helping with the carb cravings. Plus I stopped working
out over the summer, but I am back to it. I need to get rid of the last 30
lbs, and I will be 3 years out this month. (Never gained any back, but
cannot get rid of the last 30!) The scale finally seems to be moving,
albeit slowly, in the right direction. I "de-carb" myself once in
awhile when I feel like I am really out of control - 3 days of mostly
protein and plenty of water. The first day is rough, but it gets easier
each day, and then I can get back on track with my food intake.

Hey, Sunshyne!
Funny ideas people have about Atkins - it DOES allow some carbs, but is
basically high protein and low carb, which is what we need. In fact, my
bariatric surgeon told me " You will essentially be on Atkins diet for
the rest of your life."

South Beach! Low fat and healthy carbs. Combine w/ the principles of the
pouch rules regarding eating dense protein and not drinking w/ meals or
soon after.

I am just new to this game but it I was trying to lose some extra lbs I
would go some place where I could get some support and that would be Weight
Watchers. They do wonders and they are based on support with real people.
