Traci,
I don't have the answer for you - but I would highly suggest you join the
Grads list - here's the URL to join:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG/ - a more wonderful group of
folks there never was!
They are great people, with incredible experiences, a huge wealth of
knowledge, and a willingness to help out.
Hope that helps a little,
Blessings,

Most docs won't do a revision just because you have failed to lose weight.
there usually must be a mechanical failure. You need to be checked to see
if there is a problem.

Before you ask for a revision you need to find out why you didn't get to
goal. Have your doc run some tests and meet with a nutritionist to evaluate
what you are eating.

I understand perfectly. If you can be revised for under $10K, what exactly
do you mean by distal? Less proximal is not exactly the same as truly
distal? If you are going back to your original surgeon, love the man, just
need him to define what he means before you lay down your money. And if
you go truly distal, do you understand your need for supplementation and
care watching your labs?
