I noticed you said you try to wait to drink as long as possible. You still
need to drink ALOT...I am 11 months post op and still eat quite often.
Protein items will fill you up for the longest time. It gets better hang in
there.

I am 3 1/2 years post op and I eat several times a day. I am currently
maintaining my weight, however I notice a trend. Whenever we travel (we've
travelled a lot this summer), I LOSE weight!!(I do not want to lose any
weight!!) It is because I am not at home with access to the little meals.
We eat out for our meals and I don't eat as much as a "normal"
person would. However, it is often several hours until we eat again. I am
not hungry and so I don't physically notice it. However, we were gone for 6
days recently and I lost 5 pounds!! I quickly gained 2 of that back just by
returning to my normal eating pattern. I said that to say, your body NEEDS
to eat more frequently than it did before because you just can't eat/hold
as much. Now, I am not advocating grazing, but a pattern of smaller meals.
Good luck! Shelley

Go to 6 mini meals a day - we do eat smaller and alot of surgeons purpose 6
mini meals which is about 2 - 3 hrs apart. There is nothing wrong with
that .

Are you stopping drinking 1/2 hour before you eat? I didn't and found that
I didn't eat much at meal time but was really hungry 1 1/2 - 2 hours after.
I now stop drinking 1/2 before meals and can eat more at meal time but it
stays with me much longer.
