Question:
Gnawing feeling in Lower Stomach
I am 4 weeks post-op from an open RNY and I have a constant gnawing feeling in my lower stomach. It's like constant hunger pains, even after eating. I had this same feeling the two times I was pregnant (there is no chance of being pregnant now). I am taking a daily dose of Prevacid. Any suggestions on what could be causing this? Thanks. It sounds like you have a ulcer. Don't worry Doc said it's commend. I had
one and everything you said hit's the nail on the head. LOL I had brought
Mylanta an it helped, but I still went to the doctors and I was given
pills. it worked and within 3 to 4 days the feeling was gone. Go to your
doctor. to get medicine and it should help. that's if it's a ulcer. only
your doc will know.

Jane, I bet it's just the noises of our new stomachs doin' their thing. ;)
I have the gurgly sounds at times too. Sometimes it's more than other
times. Depending on what I am eating. No discomfort, just noise.

I am 8 weeks out and this happens to me all the time. I know I don't have a
ulcer. I think that's just our new pouch and old stomach. I know I am not
pregnant been fixed but I guess that's not 100% LOL.

This happened to me a few years ago, before surgery, and I had an ulcer. I
constintly had a nawing hunger pain. It didn't matter whether I ate or
not. I would get this checked out, maybe see a gastro doctor.

This is just a thought, could you be suffering form a little anxiety. I
suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. I havent had an attack in a long
time. But I still have periodic anxiety. Even though I am pre-op I know
that knawing feeling in the pit of you stomach that I sometimes mistake
for hunger. Again, just something to think about
