Question:
Has anyone ever had gastric bypass surgery performed to alleviate gastroparesis?

I had an upper GI conducted to rule out acid reflux and stomach ulcers and was told me my stomach was slow to empty. The resultant report stated "possible gastroparesis." Since my insurance has a specific exclusion for any surgical weight loss procedure regardless of medical condition, I'm looking for alternate reasons to have the proceedure done whereby my insurance company will pay. If you want the surgery and you have that problem then you should talk to your doctor about that. I would go for it if i had a problem with my insurance co. The worst they can do is say no right so whats the harm in asking. Go for it! Good luck!
