Has anyone ever had gastric bypass surgery performed to alleviate gastroparesis?

I had an upper GI conducted to rule out acid reflux and stomach ulcers and was told me my stomach was slow to empty. The resultant report stated "possible gastroparesis." Since my insurance has a specific exclusion for any surgical weight loss procedure regardless of medical condition, I'm looking for alternate reasons to have the proceedure done whereby my insurance company will pay. Thanks.
