Question:
What's taking so long???
I have BCBS of NC. I had surgeon's office send in paperwork September 30, 2002. I can't talk to my insurance company because they only deal directly with the doctor's office; so when I call the dr.'s office they reassure me that the insurance company has everything and they will resubmit the paperwork. I don't know what could be taking so long. Does anybody have any ideas of how to speed things along or get some definite answers? I'm really getting depressed about this because it's been so long. Please any help is much appreciated. Thank you. — Christina D. (posted on January 13, 2003)

Christina,You can call the Ins Co. They have to tell you if they do have
the paperwork and if it has been reviewed. The Dr submitted it on your
behalf. I work at BC BS INDIANA and we have to have 99% of our Inquiries
out in 21 days. Call them!!! Good Luck let us know what you find out.

Hi, your ins. co. should have a customer sevice department(they did when
you enrolled -- let them know this too) in case there members have any
questions/complaints. You need to find out whom/what department handles
that. Good Luck! and God Bless!

Christina, not saying anything bad about/to you, but whoever told you that
is CRAZY!! Have you received an answer yet? Who said you can't talk with
someone at BCBS!!?? That is why there is/should be a customer service
number~~the Customer Service Representatives are responsible for answering
your EVERY concern pertaining to your WLS!. ARRGGGHH! You have the option
of calling them OR going online (which may be the best bet, then there is
documented proof that you may/or may not have been given incorrect
information). You have a RIGHT as a patient to ask whatever you want!!Don't
let anyone tell you otherwise, Christina. This is a stall and
discouragement tactic. I can give you some more pointers if like. Email me.
