What's taking so long???

I have BCBS of NC. I had surgeon's office send in paperwork September 30, 2002. I can't talk to my insurance company because they only deal directly with the doctor's office; so when I call the dr.'s office they reassure me that the insurance company has everything and they will resubmit the paperwork. I don't know what could be taking so long. Does anybody have any ideas of how to speed things along or get some definite answers? I'm really getting depressed about this because it's been so long. Please any help is much appreciated. Thank you.
