Question:
Anyone been denied a TT because of a picture, even though it's medically necessary??
My insurance will approve a abdominoplasty if it is medically necessary. The PS sent the letter of necessity, and now the insurance wants to see pictures. My worry: because I don't "hang" that much, I'm afraid that they won't approve it. Do these companies "compare", or expect the stomach to look a certain way? Is it possible that they could deny my request based on a picture? I want this SO bad, and I would like some encouragment from people "in the know" that a picture will not be the thing that gets me denied. Thanks everyone! — blank first name B. I sent pictures showing much hang over but was still denied because I did
not show the underside showing sores and the such. Boo Hiss.

I was denied a TT even with pictures, so I drafted a letter using Victoria
Bowens example in her profile and mailed it off for an appeal. I received
my letter of approval today for the TT. I really think a lot of insurances
deny this procedure just to see how badly people want it. There must be a
lot of people out there who get the denial and then let the matter drop. I
wasn't one of them and I got approved with an appeal. Good luck.

I have lost 100lbs since my gastric bypass and am having a TT and Breast
Redux/lift tomorrow. During my weight loss everytime I had a rash or
redness under my stomach or breast I took pictures. When I went into see
the PS I gave him the pics and he took some of me now. I have a small
panni, and it hasn't caused a rash in a long time, but it does bother me.
I got approval right away. Keep records, and take pictures everytime you
get a rash. Good Luck
