Question:
i have bcbs/fl/ppo does psych. send results to ins. or to surgeon u r using?
I had my pych. evaluation done Oct.7 2002,I told him that I wasnt going to have surgery if every thing goes o.k. w/ ins. until Jan. He told me he dont understand why the surgeon doesnt ask for the pysch. exam and the ins. does so he knows I need this for ins. is he going to send the results to the ins. or to surgeon and how long does it usually take? — Kelliann S. I have BCBSFL/HMO and there was a form I filled out when I had the psych
eval that told them where I wanted the psych info sent. I had it sent to my
surgeon because they take all the info and submit to BCBSFL.

I have BCBS/CO/PPO so I don't know if it makes a difference being in a
different state or not but my psychologist faxed the report of my psych
evaluation over to my surgeons office the following day. They included it
in my packet of information that was sent to the insurance company. I can
only imagine this would be the way they would do it. Because otherwise I
would think it would be hard to get the psych eval. to meet up with your
file on the same desk if they weren't sent together. Just a guess, hope it
helps.

I have the exact same insurance. He should send it to the surgeon. But to
put your mind at easy I would call his office and ask them to have it sent
to the surgeon.

I have BCBS of Minnesota PPO, but they sent my stuff thru Florida BCBS. My
psych eval was faxed to the insurance immediately after I had the
evaluation cause it was BCBS who requested the eval, not my surgeon. My
surgeon did get a copy though.
