i have bcbs/fl/ppo does psych. send results to ins. or to surgeon u r using?

I had my pych. evaluation done Oct.7 2002,I told him that I wasnt going to have surgery if every thing goes o.k. w/ ins. until Jan. He told me he dont understand why the surgeon doesnt ask for the pysch. exam and the ins. does so he knows I need this for ins. is he going to send the results to the ins. or to surgeon and how long does it usually take?
