Kelliann- This is a newer part of the policy for BCBS, before you just
needed to give your diet history. I would still go to your consultation and
take with you a diet history (include the diet, time, how much lost and
gained back), bring your proof from 1995-1996 and Your proof of two years
morbid obesity. Your surgeon's office should send it in and help you fight
the battle. But if you do not get started you can not start your appeals. I
would suggest also that you get yourself on a Dr. supervised diet, so if it
doesn't go through you will have at least started the year process. The
next thing all of us need to do in Florida is contact our State
Reprentatives and Sentators to change the law and require ins. companies in
Florida to make this surgery available.
