I used Dr. Cotton in Palm Bay, Florida for my eval. He was very good and it took only about a week to wait from making the appt. I also have BlueCross/ PPO Blue Choice. I know its not in Orlando but he is pretty much right off of I-95. Good luck

Call your surgeons office and ask who they recommend for the evaluation. They will know of a WLS friendly pychiatrist.

Hi, Kelliann! I'm near Orlando too, in Deltona. I have my surgery date scheduled already for 10/09/02. Yes, I have a couple suggestions for you for a PCP & Psychologist even though I don't have BCBS of FL. Just call their offices & ask them if they take your insurance, I'm sure they will. For a PCP I recommend: Dr. David Nerness in Lake Mary, the office is on Lake Mary Blvd. The ph# there is: (407) 333-1550. He's a very cool guy, I only saw him the one time so far & he gave me the OK for surgery right away. For the Psych. Eval. I went to a lady in Winter Park, she's a Psychologist (has a PhD) & her name is: Fran Friedman, she's in on office bldg. on Louisiana Ave. The ph# there is: (407) 645-3777. I'll warn you though, they DO make you take that MMPI-2 test there, it's a ton of true & false questions that takes 1 1/2 - 2 hrs. to finish! That was a real pain in the butt...but besides that, she's a very cool lady too, easy to talk to! Just give them both a call & see if they take your ins. & get directions to their offices. I too have a $15 co-pay normally but for the Psychologist it turned out to be $35 co-pay per visit. Don't know if this will be the case for you or not though. I hope this helped! All the best!!!
