Question:
Beyond Exhaustation
I am 8 months post op and when I get home from work I am beyond exhaustation, I just cannot keep my eyes open. I hate this feeling. My body is sore and weak. Any advice. I exercise daily and drink plenty of water. I am 8 months post op. I started at 223 and I am now 124 I notice when I exercise I get light headed sometimes and things get fuzzy... hmmmmm — Jennifer L. Wish I could help with the exhaustion. Unfortunately (or maybe
fortunately), I'm full of energy. I can tell you that I get light headed
and things get fuzzy for me many times a day. Not just during strenous
activity; it happens when I get up out of a chair, stand up from
squatting...or sometimes it just happens to me as I walk. I thought I was
the only one, but one of my good friends said the same thing happens to
her. We're suspecting low blood pressure (??), but that's something that
we should all ask our Dr.'s about. Congrats on the weight loss!

Are you taking any vitamins, specifically iron supplements? Sounds like
you might be anemic. Get yourself to a doctor, and get your labs done
pronto.

I am 2 1/2 months post op and this was happening to me. My dr. had my labs
done and I am horribly low on my potassium, which can kill you if not dealt
with. I am now on liquid potassium which is by prescription only ... get
your labs checked!!!!

I am the same way my doc says it is coused by a couple things, first low
blood pressure which he says to drink lots of fluids, it helps with that
problem, and second, low blood sugar, which is helped by more protien shakes
he says every 3 to 4 hours should help word low blood sugar off, i am a
year post op and have lost about 110 pounds, and have the same problems and
doing this seems to help.

Grab your last labs and check out where your numbers were. Protein,
albumin, iron, hgb, hct, B12-----where are they in the range? Low end? If
the labs are more than 2 months old, it's time for new ones. Guessing is
OK, but you could lose your job. Good ol' black and white numbers,
comparing all your labs to date--then you'll have a better clue as to just
where the "hole" is.
