Question:
How do I jump start my weight loss again?

I am 6 months post op and have reached a plateau. How do I jump start my weight loss again and get off this plateau. I need HELP regarding, the proper diet, what type of exercises I can do to get rid of these flabby arms and thunder thighs, and....If I drink a proteing shake for breakfast lunch and dinner, do I necessarily HAVE to eat any food?    — Yolanda C. I also went thru quite a long plateau at 6 month PO. I think quite a few people do , I feel its our bodies way to say hold up, whats going on here. If you continue what you have been doing and stay off the scales the weight will start coming off again. If you weigh every day and do not see a loss your going to get discouraged and start eating junk. Good Luck Karen

I know where you are. I have been on a plateau forever it seems. I have been around 158 pounds for about 5 weeks now. I hope this is not it for me.

I am 6.5 months post op and experienced the same thing at about 5 months. I had to be honest iwth myself. I looked at how many calories I was taking in way back at say 2 months post op and it was less than 600. By month 5 I was eating more like 1500. Regardless of what anyone says this surgery forces your body to go on a low cal diet. I have recently reduced caloric intake and upped my protein and exercise. When I say up my exercise I mean that I doubled what I was doing before, some days triple. I now am losing a pound every other day again. Look at your food choices and remember how far you have come and all that you have invested to lose weight. I remember that each day when I may want to eat a little more or work out a little less. I know that many will disagree and say that moderation is the key and I agree---but you will get moderate results. Push yourself a little farther and get in more exercise and less calories. It is simple math really. Good luck and I hope I dont sound harsh.
