Question:
Anyone have breast implants after surgery?

Unfortunately this sounds kind of vain (sorry). I am worried about losing all of my chest when I lose all the weight after surgery (there's not too much of it to begin with!.....40C). Has anyone had breast implants after surgery? They might be a present from my hubby!! Congratulations to everyone on their new lives! Thanks for your support.    — [Anonymous] (posted on December 29, 2001)

You are NOT vain! You are just being human. I just had surgery 5 weeks ago and my surgeon has already talked to me about this. Prior to surgery I was a 40D and I must admit I like my chest. Unfortunately, our breasts are one of the first things to go. I'm not sure how old you are but my surgeon says since I am still young I may want to consider implants. I don't want to be one of those over sized breasted women like you see in men's magazines but I would like a nice chest. He says to wait at least a year following the surgery to see what their final 'post-op' size will be. Big chests run in my family so who knows? Maybe I will remain well endowed. Whatever you decide know it is the right decision for YOU and nobody else. I wish you the best in your journey and feel free to contact me at [email protected]. Hugs, Amy

I'm in my early fourties and am definatly getting implants after I loose all my weight! I'm 4 months post-op today, and went from a 42C, to a 42B, to a 40B, to now a 38C---and I'm not exactly thrilled about the sagging either. My nipples are looking down at my toes more & more, and I'm afraid there will be a day when they will be turning back towards my body! One thing I have found is that the Victoria Secret's Second Skin bra is absolutely wonderful--very comfortable, supportive, no bouncing, and pretty. I went there the other day and the sales clerks were teriffic at helping me with my problem. One even told me when they would be on sale and said to come back and get them in a few smaller sizes---if I never get into them, they'll take them back with the receipt, even after a year! I mentioned my sagging to my wonderful doctor, and he told me that he is already keeping tabs on several plastic surgeons for me and when the time is right, he'll give me the referral.

Gee, I thought it was just me--120 lbs down and Ive gone from a 42D to a 38Long...Think Victoria's Secret can help with this bra size?;-) I never thougth I would consider plastic surgery or implants but a thigh lift, implants and some work on my neck/face are going to be my 1st year anniversary presents to myself. I want to look as good as I feel. I have taken on a second job to pay for them--I don't want another insurance fight like I did with my wls. My surgeon and I have already discussed it and he gives the same advice--wait one year until everything has stabilized. I don't relish surgery in any form, but Im pretty sure I can exercise my breasts back to a more perky mode or get rid of the austrian shades my inner thighs have developed. These are the gifts I am giving myself for the rest of my life.

I am so happy that it is just not me and thinking that I had a vanity problem :) I'm 4 1/2 mos post op and have gone from a 44D to a 34B and that is getting big on me now...DEFINATELY WANTS TO MAKE ME GET DRESSED AND UNDRESSED IN THE BATHROOM....I can't stand to look at them, I can't imagine what my husband REALLY thinks :) I am on a mission to have them lifted and I will have to pay for the implants...fortunately I have had several rashes under my breasts and so my PCP is already documenting so that my insurance will pay...I know how ya all feel....mine look like 2 bananas just hanging from my chest :) But it's a million times better than being fat and having those huge things there :) It's wonderful being a NORMAL SIZE!!!!!
