Question:
Is there anybody out there that had the surgery and had 70bmi/500pds pre-op?
I've been reading the boards and haven't found an answer to my specific question. Basically if you had those stats what was your success like? I've been reading that bodies are different and loss is different, but at this weight and bmi can I really expect(with hard work, following dr's orders) to get down to 160pds(my ideal weight)? — Diana L. You can go to www.bariworld.com and see pics and read Baron's story. He
was 600 pounds and has lost over 400 pounds! A true inspiration!

Go to this website http://suebee420.homestead.com/Suebee2.html for more
information. Sue started out at 500 + and her site is remarkable. A LOT
of very useful information and very inspirational. Hope this helps. Patty

I was getting there. When I had surgery I was 463 lbs, with a bmi of 69. I
had DGB/DS with Dr. Gary Anthone (USC) on April 18th of this year. 7 months
ago yesterday, in fact. I have been extremely successful so far. I have
lost between 130 and 140 lbs, and my BMI is 49 or under. Having this
surgery is the best decision I have ever made. I have a good 12 to 18
months of losing left, and I am confident that I will make it to goal. My
life has changed completely and I feel so much better physically. It really
is amazing the things I am able to do now that I was not able to do before.
I can tie my own shoes, go to the movies, go to restaraunts and not worry
about where to sit. I can sit in one of the "little" white
plastic lawn chairs now. I am able to buy clothes that fit and don't ride
so far up my abdomen that I look like baby huey! I would recommend this
surgery to anyone with over 100 lbs to lose. I would love to chat with you
further. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me. Good luck
to you.

Or look up the profile for Pete Herida. He started at 803 pounds and last
time I read was 245!! He needed quite a bit of reconstructive surgery, but
looks fantastic!! What an inspiration...
