I don't know if this helps, but my nutritionist warned me about this and
said it could happen. It's not really anything you need to worry about. I
believe she said that would happen if you swallow too big a piece of food
and it gets stuck. She mentioned that Papaya may help. Go to a nutrition
store and check it out.

Why would you want to throw up? If you really HAD to vomit...
you would. I've experienced the sensation you speak of....my
surgeon warned me about it. He said if it felt like something was
stuck; but, I couldn't/didn't throw up...I SHOULD NOT try to force
myself to vomit and that trying to wash it down with liquids would
only make matters worse. I should just wait for the sensation to
resolve. I'm the only one of my 3 wls friends who experiences this.
I'm 4 years post-op and it still happens about once a week. It feels
like something is "clogged" and I know I would feel better if
"I could
just throw up". I do as my surgeon advised....I just let it
pass....it
always does.

I cannot throw up either if I want to. I've had a couple of times when I
just knew something was stuck and all of this foamy stuff kept coming up
but I could never vomit. I just had to keep spitting it out, and the pain
was horrendous. I felt really like I should vomit but couldn't.
Thankfully it only happened a few times. I'm over a year and 1/2 out.

I can't throw up either. I don't mean I'm trying to. I mean even when I had
the flu,and knew it was the flu. I dry heave but nothing but foam comes
up.I know what you are talking about. It's annoying, and I sometimes wonder
if it's healthy. Isn't throwing up the body's way of expelling bad things ?
