Question:
Anyone have blunt back pain after eating, it dissapears when i throw up
I am two weeks out and still on liquids. My question is has anyone else had blunt back pain after trying to eat? the pain surrounds my left scapula. I am not eating a lot. The pain becomes worse until I vomit and then it goes away. Anyone else had this? — karen Z. (posted on July 18, 2001)

You didn't say how much you are eating. If your pouch was 1 oz at surgery,
and you are eating much more than 1 oz, it might hurt. However, back pain
can sometimes indicate other stuff. Nausea? Vomiting? How's water
taste/feel? And of course, did you call your doc?

I had this same pain recently. I am 7 weeks post op open RNY. My surgeon
said it was because what I ate irritated the pouch maybe because it wasn't
chewed enough (I chew 75 bites) or because I had too big of a bite.
Unbreaded haddock didn't sit well and neither did venison. It happened
with both of those foods.
