Question:
My incision is not a straight line it goes to the right..is this common?
I had my open Rny surgery on 6/26/00 and have been recovering good. My husband is concerned about thie fact that my incision starts in the middle and slowly moves right. My husband was wondering if this is normal do they need to be more to the right at the bottom? Or does my doctor cut like I do and should have had a ruler ;} I am going to ask my doc about it but I do not see him for two more weeks. Thank You and sorry if I sound like a nut — Paula G. I don't know if its normal , but my incision does the same thing, I just
assumed it was because my tummy is so big , it's hard to keep a straight
line. Maybe there is a medical reason for this, or maybe both of our
surgeons went to the same school. lol. keep up the good work

My incision is also the same way. But what I did notice is that as I lose
weight the line seem to straighten itself out. In other words my line isn't
as curvey as it use to be.

Actually, the incisional line going right or left has more to do with your
political preferences. Studies have shown that Republicans (assuming you
can find a fat Republican) or those with conservative leanings tend to veer
to the right, while Democrats and other communist liberal types tend to
veer to the left. Tongue firmly in cheek,

Mine also goes to the right. I thought the same thing about the surgeon
not cutting straight. Four friends of mine had the same surgery from the
same surgeon and theirs also goes to the right.
P.S. I went to a tanning salon for one month and now my scar is not as
noticeable, plus I have a GREAT tan!
Good Luck!
