Question:
Will newly purchased individual insurance cause alot of problems
I have not had insurance in years, the company I work for now does not offer group but they allow $300 a month for me to find my own. When I find the right policy, will I run into any problems(aside from the norm)in getting ANY help with obesity? I am thinking about trying for BCBS of GA,if they even accept me because of my weight. Any help is appreciated. Thanks — Shana K. (posted on July 6, 2003)

I have to purchase my own insurance and it cost me 475.00 per mth. I had
this insurance for years, and then had surgery, and they covered it (anthem
ppo). I would make sure you find a insurance company that will cover the
surgery before purchasing it. I hope that you can find insurance for
300.00 per mth, I sure would like to..

I had Blue cross and Blue Shield of GA Indivual policy from june 2002 to
May 1st when relocated and transfered to Blue cross And Blue of Michigan
Indivual coverage May 1st 2003 and 3 weeks later started the process right
way, and it is covered, they said because I had coverage they waived a 180
day pre exsiting waiting policy.
before taken out the coverage if you have not done already..
make sure there isnt anything that doesnt cover WLS surgery sometimes they
put in sneaky clauses in there depending
on the plan/coverage.
Hope this helps...what I would do is ask you agent in the furture if i
wanted this does it cover it and is there any waiting peroid, Agent in
Woodstock Ga she travel all over Atlanta and wrotes up blue cross and great
work with...email me if you need her info.
